A smaller, more spread-out community
Osgoode is one of the most rural wards in Ottawa’s south end, a village and surrounding community built around low-density agricultural land rather than anything resembling a suburban grid. It is a smaller population centre than nearby Metcalfe or Greely, and lot sizes here tend to run larger on average, with more distance between neighbouring properties and more open farmland filling the gaps. That spacing changes how a demolition job gets planned on the ground. A longer driveway, a setback well back from the road, or equipment that has to cross open field to reach a structure are all things we account for before a crew is ever scheduled, rather than treating a rural Osgoode property the same way we would a tight village or subdivision lot. Many Osgoode properties also rely on private well and septic systems rather than municipal services, which we factor into the demolition and site-restoration plan from the outset.
