A river village at the edge of the city
Cumberland is a village on the Ottawa River in Ottawa’s east end, built around a historic core that has been there long before the newer suburban streets that have grown up nearby in recent years. Its riverside setting is part of daily life here. A small cable ferry still connects Cumberland across the river toward the Quebec side, a detail that says a lot about how this community sits at the rural edge of the city rather than deep inside it. That mix of an older riverside village and newer development close by means we see everything from small waterfront sheds and outbuildings to standard subdivision teardowns, often within the same week. We plan each job around the property in front of us rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Riverside lots in Cumberland can also mean older sheds and outbuildings built close to the water, which we assess for site access and any extra grading needed before removal.
