Planned subdivisions, flat terrain, straightforward site prep
Most homes in Orleans went up during a defined stretch of suburban growth from the 1970s through the early 2000s, so the demolition scope tends to be predictable: garages, decks, and additions built to that era’s standards, on largely flat, well-graded lots. That flat terrain makes equipment access easier in most cases, but it doesn’t remove the need for proper backfill after an in-ground structure like a pool or old foundation comes out. Ottawa’s frost depth requirement of 1.8 metres below grade still applies here the same as anywhere else in the city, and we grade every site with that in mind so water doesn’t pool or heave the following winter.
